Where Am I Heading to College? (It's been a long time)

Hey guys!!!
It's been quite a while since I last posted on this blog, and quite a lot has changed since then. The current state of the US and the world, with the coronavirus and the brutal death of George Floyd, is crazy. I hope you all stay safe and don't forget to wear a mask!
I have been so inconsistent in posting on this blog that many of you have little to no idea where I am going to college. If you want to hear more about my extraordinarily unique college application and decision experience, please let me know!
Anyhow, I know all of you have been waiting for where I plan to attend college this year. After all, I did not even tell you the schools I applied to...

I am glad to say that I will be attending the University of Pennsylvania this fall, majoring in biology and on the pre-med track (obviously!). I am beyond blessed and grateful for this opportunity God has given me. I cannot wait to spend my next four years at Penn!

As for this blog, I am no longer a 'pre-med in high school.' Rather, I will actually be a pre-med at university. I still plan on posting more frequently on this blog, discussing anything medicine-related and even sharing my college experiences with you -- please expect more content in the future.

Bye for now!
Don't forget to stay safe and healthy!

Cesarean Section

Important notice: To those of you who read my posts faithfully, I have something to tell you. If you notice, I publish my posts every four to five days. But as school is approaching, and as my schedule gets tighter I decided that I will write my posts once a week instead of every four to five days. After this post, I will start writing on Fridays.  I'm also curious as to which type of posts you enjoy reading the most on my blog. I want to know which type of posts I should be writing more of. Therefore, I made a poll.  Please check out the link to the poll below and vote. ↓↓↓↓ Link to poll:  http://www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=598cac60e4b0fa6088cce9a1 ________________________________________________ Today's post is on  another surgery. Acute Subdural Hematoma Surgery

source Welcome back to my blog! For today's post, I decided to do something a little different. I want to put up a Youtube video of a brain surgery that I enjoyed watching. The patient is an 83 year old woman who fell down and injured her head.  This injury had given her acute subdural hematoma. Acute subdural hematoma (SDH), is usually caused by a head injury from a fall, an assault or a motor vehicle collision. SDH is a clot of blood that is formed between the dura mater (the brain's tough outer covering) and the brain. This blood clot is formed due to the stretching and tearing of veins on the brain's surface. These veins rupture when a head injury shakes and jolts the brain.  This surgery is done by a brain surgeon who will cut open the patient's head and remove the blood clot.  ** WARNING: Do not watch this video if you are squeamish at the sight of blood!!! ** If you are not squeamish at the sight of blood, sit back, relax and learn something n...

LEARN MORE ABOUT ME - Q&A SESSION

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome back to those who faithfully read my posts. And welcome to my blog to those who are new! Check out my other posts if you haven't yet. They're quite interesting.  T o kick off the new year, I wanted to do a Q&A post.  As I was looking through my previous blog posts, I saw that most of my posts were about medicine and college. None of them were about me! (Lol! I don't mean to sound selfish!😂) I really want my audience to know more about me. So, I hope you don't mind if I make this post a little different! ______   Here are a few common questions with my answer: Q: "What is your name?" A: My name is Kristine (with a 'K' if you didn't notice!). People tend to spell my name with a 'Ch' and its quite annoying! 😂 Q: "What grade are you in?" A: I am a sophomore in high school. Q: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" A: A doctor (duh!) That's why I made this blo...
