LIFE UPDATE: What's Going On With Me?

Probably many of you are asking: what in the world has happened to me? That's a completely valid question because after all, I haven't posted in about nine months. So what actually happened in those nine months? Junior year.

I know I'm probably making an excuse as to why I haven't posted in such a long time, but please hear me out. Many things happened in Junior year. For one, I was busy studying for the SAT and the ACT (if you want more information on my experience with both standardized tests, please let me know). 11th grade was also the year when I started to become more active in my school (a little too late, don't you think?). Aside from having leadership positions in National Honors Society and Math National Honors Society, I co-founded a middle school Science Club and am currently in the midst of co-founding a library at my school. Busy year, right?

Now that I've read through what I wrote, I realize that I am probably making the biggest excuse in my life. Ha! There's no reason why I shouldn't consistently post on this blog; I have no excuse as to why I haven't been posting continually. Also, I can't promise that I'll post consistently during Senior year because tons of stuff are already going on. About that...

What's Currently Going On?

I'll make it short and simple...

  1. I finished Junior year.
  2. I took the ACT around two weeks ago. (I'm still waiting for my scores!)
  3. I'm in the process of searching and visiting colleges. (If you want more information on the colleges I'm interested in, please let me know)
  4. I actually started my college essay (Better to start early!)
  5. I'm in the process of looking for scholarships
Wow, high school was a blur. It seemed just yesterday when my Freshman self posted about starting a Pre-med club. Now I'm a rising Senior looking for excuses as to why I haven't posted in nine months. Any way, I will try my hardest to post regularly, and if you have anything you want me to talk about, please comment down below. Until next time!

Cesarean Section

Important notice: To those of you who read my posts faithfully, I have something to tell you. If you notice, I publish my posts every four to five days. But as school is approaching, and as my schedule gets tighter I decided that I will write my posts once a week instead of every four to five days. After this post, I will start writing on Fridays.  I'm also curious as to which type of posts you enjoy reading the most on my blog. I want to know which type of posts I should be writing more of. Therefore, I made a poll.  Please check out the link to the poll below and vote. ↓↓↓↓ Link to poll:  http://www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=598cac60e4b0fa6088cce9a1 ________________________________________________ Today's post is on  another surgery. Acute Subdural Hematoma Surgery

source Welcome back to my blog! For today's post, I decided to do something a little different. I want to put up a Youtube video of a brain surgery that I enjoyed watching. The patient is an 83 year old woman who fell down and injured her head.  This injury had given her acute subdural hematoma. Acute subdural hematoma (SDH), is usually caused by a head injury from a fall, an assault or a motor vehicle collision. SDH is a clot of blood that is formed between the dura mater (the brain's tough outer covering) and the brain. This blood clot is formed due to the stretching and tearing of veins on the brain's surface. These veins rupture when a head injury shakes and jolts the brain.  This surgery is done by a brain surgeon who will cut open the patient's head and remove the blood clot.  ** WARNING: Do not watch this video if you are squeamish at the sight of blood!!! ** If you are not squeamish at the sight of blood, sit back, relax and learn something n...

LEARN MORE ABOUT ME - Q&A SESSION

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome back to those who faithfully read my posts. And welcome to my blog to those who are new! Check out my other posts if you haven't yet. They're quite interesting.  T o kick off the new year, I wanted to do a Q&A post.  As I was looking through my previous blog posts, I saw that most of my posts were about medicine and college. None of them were about me! (Lol! I don't mean to sound selfish!😂) I really want my audience to know more about me. So, I hope you don't mind if I make this post a little different! ______   Here are a few common questions with my answer: Q: "What is your name?" A: My name is Kristine (with a 'K' if you didn't notice!). People tend to spell my name with a 'Ch' and its quite annoying! 😂 Q: "What grade are you in?" A: I am a sophomore in high school. Q: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" A: A doctor (duh!) That's why I made this blo...
